The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD has an upgrade system that demands lots of treasures, and of those, we’re looking at how to get ornamental skulls. These are a resource that you’ll likely be needing in a rather mass quantity. You might have gotten some from chests or enemies but not really had that great of an idea as to how exactly you get them. Luckily, it’s actually a rather easy and simple process, albeit a bit of luck is required.
How to Get Ornamental Skulls
The first thing you need to understand is that this is a treasure you can obtain from anywhere that is not in the Skyloft region. The forest, volcano, and desert are all free game when it comes to grinding up these skulls for personal use. The only tool you’ll need to bring along is your sword, and maybe the treasure medallion or cursed medallion if you want to increase your odds by quite a bit. While you can get these anywhere though, it will be objectively easier to get them at the forest and volcano so dive down to one of those locations.
You can arrive pretty much anywhere, as your targets are all of the Bokoblins that roam the region. That’s right, all you have to do is beat up as many of them as possible and hope that they drop an ornamental skull upon death. They drop them fairly commonly but if luck just isn’t on your side it may take a while before you get all of them that you need, hence the use of a medallion. This is also why going to the desert isn’t a good idea for this, as you need to put up with the electric swords of the Bokoblins that live there, which makes the process take far longer thanks to their increased difficulty. If you’re especially lucky though, they can also drop golden skulls, which are the much rarer counterpart of the normal resource and are also worth quite a bit.
